They are much better than diesel generators in this regard but are not as suitable as diesel generators for emergency use. Wind power generators cannot be considered backup power sources but can be used long-term. They are generally suitable for areas far from the power grid, such as pastoral areas, mountainous regions, and islands with abundant wind resources. However, both cost and technology still lag significantly behind traditional thermal and hydroelectric power, and national policy support is needed.
